Like so many of the outreach ministries existing at Crossroads, homeless care was fueled by one of our members who was led by God’s compassion to explore the widespread problem of homelessness in the greater Puyallup Valley.
Freezing Nights is a seven night per week shelter and meal provision for homeless adults in the greater Puyallup area from November 1st through March 31st..
It is the only emergency shelter program in East Pierce County. Crossroads is one of a dozen local churches that shelter these guests. We host every Saturday night, from 7 pm untill 7 am on Sunday morning. Dinner and breakfast are provided by volunteers. Also, volunteers set up cots, help guests with their bedding, and attend to minor needs, such as handing out clean socks, washcloths, toiletries and bandaids. Each Saturday evening many church families come to play games, provide fellowship and have conversation with our homeless guests (40-90 people).
